I am really not good on installing things, usually I am though. So I got an On Demand TV-box from my cable-TV operator and with that a new modem/router. I followed the instructions that comes with, step by step. Then I wanted too see if the broadband was working as it should, so I start the modem following the instructions and all seems fine, lamps lights up and so on. Then I fixed the wireless, no problem to set it up but then I hit a major problem, I can't log on to the net, hmm what the hell now...
So I got the computer to communicate with the modem, no problem there, but it will not communicate with the operator and when I got home today I call the call-center to get some help to fix that. Well just forget it. At first I got help by a digital support thing, it didn't help, quite useless actually. Then I called again and had to wait for seven minutes just to be transferred to technical support which I thought where I was in the first place. Well there it was a 13 minute wait so I hanged up realizing that: Okay, I try this tomorrow then. After thinking for a few minutes I put everything back the way it was before I started installing things.. Tomorrow is a new day and new motivation to solve problems...
This is the first time I didn't fix to install a broadband-connection on my own. I know that it is not on my side the fault lays, well I hope that anyway. I do feel a bit cranky that I couldn't fix it. Do you really need to be a computer tech to install a simple modem/router and a TV-box?? I don't think so....
I haven't installed the new digital box yet. I really hope that it will be an easier task to install it...
