The winter have taken a firm grip where I live, I really like the snow but I don't like the ice at all. It is a necessary evil that comes with the winter. So far until a few weeks ago we had a very mild winter with temperature around 0 degree Celsius. I like it when it's not very cold outside but I like snow. I think snow belongs to our winters here in Sweden, we have had winters without snow and instead of snow we got rain which I'm not so keen about. Rain have a nasty habit of pouring down when I don't have an umbrella or my rain clothes with me. The last week we have had temperature around -10-12 degrees Celsius and I feel like not leaving my bed at all.
Me and a few off my friends went to the last game of the season for IFK Göteborg a few years back, they were in the lead of the table for the final game, they won with 3-1 and became Swedish Champions. But this day were in October and the forecast was that it might come rain on the evening. They were so wrong, Since I was going to the arena I didn't brought my umbrella but I did put on an extra clothes which didn't help in the end. While going by tram down to the Gothenburg's city centre where Ullevi is located it started to rain and on the short walk it just poured down, we got quite wet. After entering the arena at the section where our seats where we bought ourselves some ponchos to protect us from the rest of the bad weather. That didn't stop me from shivering due to my pants being wet. In the end we were happy, our team won the game and I could go home and take a bath to warm me up:)
The last week it's been really cold and it's not very pleasant at all, we have routes where we use bikes to deliver mail and those been no fun to been assigned too. Riding the bikes have been a bit tricky due to icy roads and spots of ice at the mailboxes. I get a bit frustrated when I don't get a flow and I have to stop at every mailbox. It's not easy to know how much clothes I need to have on not to freeze, I usually have like a t-shirt, a long armed t-shirt, a college sweater and a fleece jacket on top and ordinary pants and coated trousers. Not a big fan when you have a lot of staircases to deliver mail in you get really sweaty and when you go back outside to go to the next entrance or cycling back to the office the sweat gets cold and sticky so the first thing I do when I get back I change my clothes. I appreciate that we get free uniforms to wear and I usually have like three t-shirts, college sweaters and a few pants to change to between so I'm lucky that I don't have to use my own clothes.
Fun fact: I'm getting really good at changing a flat tire, I've been out helping a few colleagues a couple of times the last few weeks. The thing I don't like about one of car model we drive are the fact that the spare tire is positioned under the body and the spare is really dirty due to being exposed to nature.
