So I have started reading a adventure-novel by a Swedish author. It's about a historian that in somehow ends up in a cat and mouse chase. I've read about almost a hundred pages and it scares the living daylights out of me, I can't explain it. It all started with a diver that finds a dead body down in an abandon mine shaft located in the middle of Sweden. At first I thought that the story was about a journalist seeking the truth about the body in the mine but that's just the start of story that seems to involves Nordic mythology. Haven't got the full picture yet so I might be wrong about that. Don't want to give away too much info if someone wants to read it...
The first mistake I did was that I started reading it before I was going to sleep and it gave me nightmares which I usually don't have but something about diving between mine-shafts and how the body was described were really good but maybe a bit too realistic. In my dream I could see the body in which position and everything, freaky like hell. The funny thing is that I never been easily scared when it comes to books and reading, movies on other hand can scare me a lot but I don't get dreams about them though.
Well I really wants to finish the book because it seems so far well-written and the book fascinates me. The storyline is interesting and seems really thought through. I think it has something to do with the fact that it scared me a bit. Yes I'll admitthat is the main reason why I still read it. The book is called Strindbergs Stjärna by Jan Wallentin and it has been sold to fourteen other countries according to the cover of the book.
